Dodo Pizza closed all four pizzerias in Yaroslavl and terminated the commercial concession agreement with the franchisee. Prior to this, the company had never closed all outlets at once in one city. The fact is that the Management Company had a conflict with the counterparty and personally with its leader - Evgeny Tkachev.
The position of the Management Company is that the franchisees systematically do not comply with the requirements under the contract, the standards of purity, storage and labeling of goods are violated, the employees do not have the necessary documents and do not pass certification. Dodo Pizza claims these claims have a long history, dating back to a 2019 review. Each time, the franchisee promised to eliminate all violations, but did not fulfill the promises.
The last straw was the checks on May 13, when violations were again found in all four pizzerias. The company concluded that the partner did not intend to change the situation and decided to terminate the contract, which he notified the franchisee. After that, it was logical to demand the sale of a license and disconnect from the system. Three months were given for the sale, but Yevgeny Tkachev did not cope with the task during this time. The company extended the deadline and offered its assistance in placing proposals subject to the provision of verified facts.
The management company intends to minimize the damage from the termination of relations with a partner as much as possible, to resolve all disputes out of court. After that, "Dodo Pizza" hopes to enter the Yaroslavl market again after some time with another counterparty.
However, the franchisee and Yevgeny Tkachev have a different position, a lawsuit has already been sent to the court to challenge the termination of the contract. He believes that the claims of the Management Company are far-fetched, the conclusions are biased. And the motive for such an attitude is the consolidation of the company, the exclusion of unwanted partners from the market.
There is also a dispute regarding the value of assets. Tkachev expected to sell all pizzerias for 180-150 million rubles, the management company considers this price too high. Tkachev, on the other hand, believes that he is being forced to sell the business at a lower price, not allowing him to place offers on third-party sites (the Criminal Code explained this by possible damage to his reputation). However, in addition to violations of sanitary requirements and labeling, Dodo Pizza also has claims against the Yaroslavl counterparty for paying royalties, paying for contact center services, etc.
