New preferences in the information technology industry from March 2022.
Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of March 2, 2022 No. 83 “On measures to ensure the accelerated development of the information technology industry in the Russian Federation”.
Against the backdrop of the current economic situation in the country, the third package of measures was entirely aimed at the Russian IT industry.
From 03/02/2022, employees of IT companies have been granted the right to receive a deferment from conscription for military service, the opportunity to allocate funds for improving living conditions and increasing wages.
IT companies are exempted from paying corporate income tax until December 31, 2024, will be exempt from tax and currency control for three years, will be entitled to preferential loans and grant support, and will also be able to employ foreign specialists in a simplified manner.
The listed support measures, in order to prevent a slowdown in the development of the IT industry in the Russian Federation, will be available only to accredited IT companies according to the register of accredited organizations operating in the field of information technology, which is maintained by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.
In order for IT companies to be able to use the new measures as soon as possible, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation will soon have to prepare the necessary direct regulatory documents for the implementation of the measures taken.
