Svyaznoy intends to bankrupt himself.
A message appeared on Fedresurs on behalf of Set Svyaznoy LLC, announcing the intention of the publisher to apply to arbitration for his own bankruptcy. Among other participants, two large credit organizations were named: Alfa-Bank, Sovcombank, the telecommunications company Vimpelcom (Beeline), RB Factoring LLC, which provides banking and financial services, and the seller of electronics and home appliances Merlion. All these legal entities can be considered creditors of the company, the debt to which it is not able to repay.
Notice of intent to file for voluntary bankruptcy was published on February 14, 2023. By law, a publication must be posted on the Federal Resource at least 15 days prior to filing for arbitration. The report says that the reason for its appearance was the discovery of signs of bankruptcy.
Judging by the financial statements, Svyaznoy had financial problems even before the pandemic and 2022, revenue grew, but losses along with it. So, in 2019, the turnover amounted to just over 95 billion rubles, with a loss of almost 5 billion. In a troubled 2020, losses decreased to 2 billion on a total revenue of 102. Finally, in 2021, they managed to make a profit of 15 billion, on a record revenue of 105 billion.
At the same time, informed media sources claim that Svyaznoy has a very large debt to creditors: suppliers and banks. The figure is called about 50 billion rubles.
Financial problems were the reason for the start of active claims and lawsuits by counterparties; in 2022, a number of claims for significant amounts were filed against Svyaznoy. Moreover, if with Alfa-Bank, which filed several claims at once, it was possible to agree on an installment plan for obligations, then such agreements were not reached with other creditors. Meanwhile, the amounts of claims are significant, Vimplekom sued about a billion rubles at the end of 2022, and Merlion at the beginning of 2023 5 billion.
Sovcombank intended to bankrupt the network in October 2022, but even here a compromise was reached. Then, already in the current year, Aviapark TVK posted a message about its intention to apply to arbitration with a statement on initiating the procedure for declaring Svyaznoy insolvent, but the publication was canceled.
Now the management of the network intends to go bankrupt on its own, which indicates the exhaustion of resources and opportunities for concluding agreements with creditors.
