Rostec acquired 75% of the authorized capital of the Goreltech plant.

The Rostec State Corporation has acquired 75% of the authorized capital of the Goreltech plant, which is a manufacturer of explosion-proof equipment. Previously, since March 2022, a 75 percent stake in the company's authorized capital was under the control of the Federal Property Management Agency. The remaining 25% belongs to the German company R.Stahl, which is a leading international supplier of equipment and solutions in the field of explosion protection.

The Goreltech plant specializes in the development and production of explosion-proof electrical equipment for enterprises in Russia and the CIS countries. It has three production sites: in St. Petersburg, Tyumen and Alma-Ata, as well as seven branches in Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The plant supplies its products to major companies such as Gazprom, LUKOIL, Rosneft and Rosatom.

R.Stahl became the founder of the plant in 2016 and was the exclusive distributor and production partner in Russia. The official distributor certificate expired in December 2022. However, after February 2022, the plant stopped placing new orders for R.Stahl equipment and submitting commercial offers.

The acquisition of the Goreltech plant by the Rostec state corporation may affect the industry as a whole. In addition, the German company R.Stahl may lose a significant market share in Russia, which may affect its business as a whole. However, the details of the future plans of the state corporation and the Goreltech plant are still unknown.
