The Bank of Russia has revoked the license for banking operations from the non-banking credit organization RIB, which provided settlements with illegal online casinos and bookmakers.
The Central Bank took this decision, guided by the fact that RNKO RIB violated federal laws regulating banking activities, as well as Central Bank regulations, in connection with which the regulator repeatedly applied appropriate measures to it over the past year. In addition, the RIB allowed violations of the requirements of its regulations in the field of combating the legalization of proceeds from crime.
RIB is not a member of the deposit insurance system. According to the Central Bank, in terms of assets, the credit institution occupied 355th place in the banking system of Russia. The Bank of Russia also created a temporary administration in NPOs pending the appointment of a commissioner or liquidator. The organization's executive powers have been suspended.
Also, on March 12, the Central Bank revoked licenses from the commercial bank Modern Business Standards and the NGO Network Clearing House, accusing them of making settlements with illegal online casinos and bookmakers. Casinos have developed a scheme using transfers between individuals. Payments are made by fake people who basically convert funds into cryptocurrencies. Cardholders are involved in illegal financing scams in general, not just online casinos.
