Pilots will be restricted in flights. Recovery of damages.

Pilots of Russian airlines due to European sanctions (recall of foreign aircraft, closed skies, a ban on the supply of spare parts), airlines in the spring were forced to partially decommission or dismiss. Now the media notes that they are experiencing difficulties in finding employment due to the fault of the Federal Air Transport Agency, allegedly the agency does not provide information about them at the request of potential employers from abroad. It is assumed that about 500 pilots could not find employment in foreign companies, if there was demand (about 600 requests were sent). This situation threatens litigation and claims for damages.

Industry sources say that Rosaviatsia does not confirm the issuance and date of the pilot's license during a routine check. Some requests are ignored, some potential employers receive a negative response with reference to the legislation on personal data.

The union's leadership claims that about 600 requests were sent, but only about 100 pilots received new jobs. Most of the pilots wanted to continue working in the countries of Southeast Asia.

The Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency do not confirm these data. At the same time, the aviation industry development program until 2030 contains data that may indicate an emerging problem of shortage of personnel. The flight crew is aging (about a third of them are pilots over 50 years old) and thins out by 300 people a year due to those who left for health reasons. The program also notes that during the month it received about 70 requests to confirm the documentation.

The practice of ignoring requests from foreign aviation authorities was used earlier, during the pandemic. Then the volume of traffic in the Russian Federation grew so much that we even had to look for pilots abroad. Now, the fulfillment of the president's order to maintain the passenger traffic of 100 million people by the end of the year has become relevant for the Ministry of Transport.

Airlines do not confirm mass layoffs and downtime, some even have pilot vacancies open, however, their incomes are noticeably declining according to trade unions. If in the spring the number of flights decreased due to the closure of western destinations, now there is a subsidy program for flights within Russia. Options for possible actions if there is a suspicion that the denial of employment was caused by the actions of the Ministry of Transport - filing a complaint with the prosecutor's office and a lawsuit in court.
