Bankruptcy of a large children's store "Daughters and sons"? Debt to creditors.

One of Russia's largest chains of children's goods stores is launching the process of bankruptcy of its operating companies.

The relevant information was taken from the Unified Federal Register of Legally Significant Information on the Facts of the Activities of Legal Entities (in short, Federal Resource), which publishes basic data about companies, including the intention to file for bankruptcy in court. On January 12, similar messages appeared from the network's five operating companies. At the same time, one of them is listed as a management company on the official website of the group.

Representatives of the companies and the group itself have not yet given any comments to the press.

In accordance with the file of arbitration cases, the courts are considering several claims from partners against network companies, the total amount of claims is more than 100,000,000 rubles. Suppliers intend to recover settlement arrears, as there are significant delays in payment of invoices, in connection with which most counterparties now conclude contracts with group companies only on a full prepayment basis. For example, the largest supply debt, judging by the amount of the claim, was formed before Inventive Toys LLC, which is part of the Inventive Retail Group, which, in turn, is a distributor of large foreign toy manufacturers. The debt is about 60,000,000 rubles. Sberbank is considered the largest creditor of the network.

The companies of the Daughters-Sonochki network, like many others, had problems due to the closure of stores during the coronavirus pandemic, in addition, grocery chains and a marketplace began to actively introduce themselves into the children's goods market, which are quite difficult to compete with. In 2020, the group's management tried to obtain additional financing, but it was not possible to obtain loans. Therefore, bankruptcy may be the only logical way out in a situation of strong creditor pressure due to serious debt and the inability to find funds to pay it off.

The "daughters and sons" of the famous businessman Alexander Bondyashov (presumably he is the real owner of this network), although they cover only 3% of the children's goods market, are second in Russia in their niche only to another large network - "Children's World". They have about 190 stores open across the country, revenue for the first half of last year amounted to about 7.5 billion rubles.
